How do i install vlc player plugin for firefox in windows?

i am trying to fix the voice on my dragon player. i am new to lunix haven’t a clue how to run this command.

$ sudo apt-get install vlc vlc-plugin-* mozilla-plugin-vlc

do you know? if so, please email me step by step, yesterday, i was listenting to a youtube and it went red, i had sound, but the video was a red screen….i got an error message that my plugin crashed.

after this, when i try to run dragon flash player, opening a a video file i have saved on my drive; ii have no sound. great video, but no sound

so i am trying to install this command that is suppose to fix the problem, but don’t know where to paste this command ….. i tried “run command” and nothing happens.
this is no where in multimedia page to run command….what am i not doing?

This only works if you have a Debian-based distro. People of non-source-based and non-Debian distros are SoL*. It’s best not to pass off all Linux distros as equal as people will get the wrong idea and go “What the f00k are wrong with me system?!”.

Note to everyone else: Check your distro.

*=there are exceptions.

i m regulary windows user
so i have problem to install software in linux red hat 5
like .tar.gz files
some when download rpm file like mplayer, or any video player error report comes
so plz help me step by step
actually i didn’t know how can use commmand so plz help
