PHP-fpm Too Many Open Files 24 Error (set open file descriptor limit)

I am getting the following error in my /var/log/php7.0-fpm.log file:
        “ERROR: failed to prepare the stderr pipe: Too many open files (24)

memcached: Failed To Set rlimit For Open Files Error and Solution

I‘m using RHEL 6 / CentOS 6.x and install the memcached server. However, whey I try to start the server using service memcached start command, I get the following error:

Starting memcached: failed to set rlimit for open files. Try running as root or requesting smaller maxconns value. [FAILED]

How do I fix this problem?

Only software developers legitimately need to access core files and none of my production web server requires a core dump. How do I disable core dumps on Debian / CentOS / RHEL / Fedora Linux to save large amounts of disk space?
