These are my own notes on the principles and practices of software related issues such as compiler, assembler, graphical user interface, and operating system design. I am currently learning these topics at university and FreeBSD as UNIX operating system for study purpose.

All above topics comes under Introduction to System software (CS04 and 05). This course started with
  • Introduction to software fundamental concepts of assembler, compilers, and software tools
  • Issues related to GUI
  • Functioning of system software packages/tools like YACC, LEX etc
  • UNIX Operating system etc

At University, we use FreeBSD as a reference to UNIX model. According to my professor, FreeBSD is a perfect thingy:
  • BSD license is perfect in an academic environment
  • FreeBSD is a complete OS
  • Quality and well documented source code
  • Properly written documentation for API & man pages
  • It is a proper working R&D platform etc

My name is Chirag, I am 22 year old Indian living in Bangalore, India. I work for an ISP doing tech support, monitoring network and stuff like that. I am married to Sanjula. She is currently studying MBBS.
