Aptana IDE is supposed to be as good as dreamweaver.
Aptana is a robust, free & open source (source available soon - licensed under the Eclipse Public License v1.0), JavaScript-focused IDE for building dynamic web applications for Linux, Windows and Mac systems. According to official Aptana site, it has following features:
- Code Assist on JavaScript, HTML, and CSS languages, including your own JavaScript functions
- Outliner that gives a snapshot view of your JavaScript, HTML, and CSS code structure
- Error and warning notification for your code
- Support for Aptana UI customization and extensions
- Cross-platform support

One small rectification: Aptana is *not* open-source. The license does not allow redistributing it, or redistrubuting “any derivative work of the Program”, which means that no other open-source project can take advantage of it. See the license file ( http://www.aptana.com/legal/apl/ ):
“THIS LICENSE GRANTS PERMISSIONS ONLY FOR YOUR INTERNAL USE (AS DEFINED BELOW). IF YOU WISH TO DISTRIBUTE OR MAKE OTHER USES OF THE PROGRAM, PLEASE CONTACT APTANA.”
It’s a little disappointing, especially since they blurry it by calling it “source open” (note the subtlety…).
hi i tried Suse linux 10.0 it is getting installed but does not show desktops .I use intel 2.66 processor.
Any body know the solution plz tell.
But it does not have realtime preview option.
