One reservation I have is that Debian is too much (for me) on a FSF and RMS' side, which isn't good for real life use. One can fiddle with vi and gcc in any of Linux - BSD OSes, even using discontinued ones. But I expect that Skype won't work, because Debian will pick up switched off in BIOS Via sound chip and will play sound through SoundBlaster, but will insist on a Mic1 being on Via. And all this nightmare with 800x600 fb, despite having GeForce in PCI slot! So i will be making mondoarchive of my Mandriva One (KDE), even if this will make me the Infidel some more. There is no such thing as a free beer, you just cannot see clearly who's gain in this all. Well, I will give it a try, definitely.
