so far all rpm based distros - suse, pclinux, the much lawded by i think flawed fedora 6,7,8 &amp; 9 fail to see my network &amp; ethernet. ubuntu still works the best but the latest version is very buggy...........the search continues awaiting the lastest sabayon as is also a fantasic desktop

One reservation I have is that Debian is too much (for me) on a FSF and RMS&#039; side, which isn&#039;t good for real life use.  One can fiddle with vi and gcc in any of Linux - BSD OSes, even using discontinued ones.  But I expect that Skype won&#039;t work, because Debian will pick up switched off in BIOS Via sound chip and will play sound through SoundBlaster, but will insist on a Mic1 being on Via.  And all this nightmare with 800x600 fb, despite having GeForce in PCI slot!  So i will be making mondoarchive of my Mandriva One (KDE), even if this will make me the Infidel some more.
