I have dabbled with linux software as linspire and redhat. I find the manual way of configuring a system so drivers will make all peripherals work is tedious and time consuming. For example, I installed the 64 bit version of xp but out of the gate the internet card would not work. Compiling linux products served to get my hands "greasy".
So, I will try the ubuntu 64 bit to see if my computer will be a little bit more crisper in performance provided all the peripherals will work with little maintenance by me.

I am a user of microsoft products.
