Dileep,
I have used my XP box as a gateway to the internet for multiple Ubuntu laptop and desk top P.C.s (wired and wireless) but so far I have been unsuccessful in print , file or drive sharing with any Windows P.C.
I know people are working to make this simple for us so just keep trying and talk to the developers. They are doing a fine job so be patient.

I love Ubuntu but I think it have boot problem. I install Ubuntu 8.10 in USB stick and it work well in later Bios support system. But some older system that don’t support form USB make booting problem. I think most of user like me have same problem too. Some website and supporter tell make USB boot CD but it can’t work well. So I think developer of the Ubuntu make and emphasize to make boot process smooth for basic user. Thank you all. And I still love in Ubuntu.

I did three installs of UBUNTU, and the first, I had do do over. One on 64bit XP-Fedora-Ubuntu, the second on a 64bit Fedora11-Ubuntu, and the third on an XP-Fedora-Ubuntu (32bit) system.

Well, the reason I had do redo one setup was that I wanted EXT4, and discovered that grub and the boot partition is not yet ready for ext4. Therefore /boot should remain ext3.

Everywhere else where EXT4 can be used was OK.

This is Bala and I have installed Ubuntu 9.04 on my laptop with Nvidia Graphics adapter and the system is not able to be boot properly and hangs on everytime I need to go the grub to force my computer to boot at the particular kernel to make the system go live and upon certain time , it says that Nvidia not detected properly and it will run in low graphics mode and so could you please help me resolve this issue at the Earliest…. I would be thankful and grateful to you for your able guidance and if you could please mail to my email id balaviswanathv@gmail.com, I would be more glad and thankful to you… Thanks in advance

I recommend doing the new installation of 9.04. I tried the upgrade route and had problems with my Nvidia card and issues with X and OpenGL/Mesa libraries. I could not effectively clean this up. After backing my data and starting a fresh install, I was really impressed by both the speed of the install and the speed of the boot-up. Very fast! YMMV

BTW – 9.04 is slick!
