In my FreeBSD-8.0-RELEASE system, I have 4 SATA drives; each has a small (64KB) freebsd-boot partition, a 4GB freebsd-swap partition, and the remainder of the space (275GB) is allocated to freebsd-zfs partitions that are brought together in a single raidz-1 pool (1.01TB). Yes Jails+ZFS+Viimage = Solaris Zones (almost).
