Download of the day: Fusion - Run any PC app on Mac OS X
At my workplace we have several Apple computers running OS X for testing/dev purpose. Now we can run PC apps on Mac OS X w/o reboot
Now VMware today released a beta version of the new VMware desktop product called Fusion (codename).
This allows Intel-based Macs to run x86 operating systems, such as Windows, Linux, NetWare and Solaris, in virtual machines at the same time as Mac OS X.
With Fusion, you can run traditional PC applications on your Mac - if you need to run PC applications, you can now do so by leveraging the power of virtual machine technology.
Interesting features
- Run 32 or 64 bit operating system
- Virtual SMP support - you will get good performance with Dual core CPU
- Access your iPod and other stuff from the virtual machine
- Share data between OS X and virtual machines
