Doesn’t work for FF 10 or 11a.

Breaks flash video on other browsers on my system.

Worked well on kubuntu 10.04, but I had to run the following commands manually (from the end of the script):

mkdir install_flash_player_10_linux
cp libflashplayer.so install_flash_player_10_linux
sudo cp install_flash_player_10_linux/libflashplayer.so /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/
sudo nspluginwrapper -i /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/libflashplayer.so
sudo ln -sf /usr/lib/nspluginwrapper/plugins/npwrapper.libflashplayer.so /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/
sudo ln -sf /usr/lib/nspluginwrapper/plugins/npwrapper.libflashplayer.so /usr/lib/firefox-addons/plugins/

Worked fine after putting libflashplayer.so in install_flash_player_10_linux directory… the tar doesn’t create it.

Don’t run this script. It’s not very robust and will just continue without checking the status of the previous operation. E.g. half of it tries to download stuff from dead links and so on.

run these lines after you run the script to add flash 64bit to Chrome too:

echo “…and Chrome”
sudo cp /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/libflashplayer.so /opt/google/chrome/
sudo nspluginwrapper -i /opt/google/chrome/libflashplayer.so
sudo ln -sf /usr/lib/nspluginwrapper/plugins/npwrapper.libflashplayer.so /opt/google/chrome/

After trying to manually install Flash player for Ubuntu AMD64 several times and failing this worked like a charm. It even uninstalled the previous failed attempts.
