FreeBSD Install .TBZ Package File

I’ve download .tbz file from the FreeBSD ftp server. How do I install this binary file using command line options?

You need to use pkg_add command which is a utility for installing software package distributions under FreeBSD operating systems.

Task: Installing Software Packages Through pkg_add Command

To install this package, make sure you’re in the download directory:

ls *.tbz

Now, type the following command to install the same:

pkg_add package-name.tbz
pkg_add qt4-doc-4.5.2.tbz
