The syntax is as follows to find out the OpenSSH Secure Sockets Layer toolkit used in a CentOS, RHEL (Red Hat), Fedora Linux:

openssl version
OpenSSL 1.0.1e-fips 11 Feb 2013

Or use the following command:

rpm -qa | grep -i openssl
yum list installed openssl

Sample outputs:

openssl-1.0.1e-30.el6_6.5.x86_64
openssl-devel-1.0.1e-30.el6_6.5.x86_64
openssl-debuginfo-1.0.1e-30.el6_6.5.x86_64

OR outputs from yum command:

yum list installed openssl
Loaded plugins: auto-update-debuginfo, protectbase, rhnplugin, security
